# SMS Opt-In & Opt-Out Policy

 Last Updated: July 2026

## 1. Purpose

Kandrex and its customers send SMS only to recipients who have given consent to receive messages. This page explains how consent is collected, how opt-out requests are honored, and what customers using Kandrex numbers for SMS must do to stay compliant with carrier and messaging-registry requirements (including 10DLC and Toll-Free Verification, "TCR", in the United States).

## 2. How Opt-In Works

Consent to receive SMS must be affirmative and documented. Acceptable opt-in methods include:

- • A checkbox on a signup or contact form that is unchecked by default

- • A recipient texting in first to initiate the conversation

- • A written or verbal agreement captured at the point of sale or service, with a record kept

Consent is never bundled with, or made a condition of, purchasing a product or service. On the Kandrex signup page, SMS consent is a separate, unchecked-by-default checkbox with the full consent disclosure shown next to it — not a requirement to create an account.

## 3. How Opt-Out Works

Recipients can opt out at any time by replying with any of the standard keywords below. Kandrex enforces suppression at the platform level — once a number opts out, no further applicable messages are sent to it, regardless of which customer or campaign originally messaged them.

 STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT

Immediately opts the number out of further messages from that sender. A one-time confirmation is sent, then no further messages.

 HELP, INFO

Replies with support contact information and a reminder of how to opt out.

 START, UNSTOP, YES

Opts a previously-stopped number back in, where the recipient re-initiates contact.

## 4. Customer Responsibilities

If you use a Kandrex number to send SMS to your own customers or leads, you are responsible for:

- • Collecting and documenting consent before messaging a recipient

- • Providing a clear way for recipients to opt out (e.g. honoring STOP)

- • Sending messages consistent with what the recipient agreed to receive

- • Completing any messaging registration (such as 10DLC or Toll-Free Verification) required for your use case before sending at volume

## 5. Registration & Verification

U.S. carriers require registration for application-to-person (A2P) messaging. Depending on your number type and use case, this can include 10DLC campaign registration for local numbers or Toll-Free Verification for toll-free numbers. Kandrex will request the information carriers require — business details, use case description, sample messages, and your opt-in workflow or URL — before enabling higher-volume SMS on your account. Messaging approval is ultimately subject to the relevant carrier's requirements and can change without notice.

## 6. Prohibited Messaging

Kandrex does not permit unsolicited bulk messaging, purchased contact lists without documented consent, phishing, deceptive content, or messages to recipients who have opted out. See our [Acceptable Use Policy](https://kandrex.com/acceptable-use) for the full list of prohibited activities. Violations may result in suspension of SMS capability or the account.

## 7. Questions or Reports

If you received a message you believe violates this policy, or you have questions about setting up compliant messaging for your own use case, contact us and we'll help you get it right before you send.
